Adam Lambert

Although Adam Lambert seemed to be the crowd’s favorite in American Idol season eight, he ended up placing a close second to under dog Kris Allen. However, as previous Idol seasons have proved, sometimes second place isn’t such a bad thing.

Amazon reported, that even though Adam Lambert’s debut album, yet to be named, has a scheduled release date for November 24th, it is already the number one pre-sold album on Amazon, beating out Barbara Streisand, Madonna and Mariah Carey. Adam also recently cut an edgy song for the soundtrack of an upcoming movie titled “2012″.

Adam Lambert was born January 29th, 1982 and calls San Diego California his hometown. He attributes his musical influence to his father, who was a radio DJ and exposed Adam to many different genres of music at an early age. Although Adam considers it a compliment when his musical style is compared to previous American Idol winner David Cook, he says that he feels they differ in many ways and both have styles all there own.

When Adam made the decision to try out for American Idol in season eight, he was performing in the hit Broadway musical “Wicked” but after quickly being recognized by Idol judges as a force to be reckoned with, Adam chose to leave the production and headed for Hollywood with the other lucky Idol hopefuls. The decision proved to be a good one, Adam’s quirky punk/emo style and attitude, not to mention powerful vocals, set him apart from the rest.

Since his American Idol days, Adam has been touring with the rest of the season eight top contestants on the “Idols Live Tour” performing to sold out crowds all over the United States. As previously mentioned, look for Adam Lambert’s new album (title TBA) to be released on Amazon.Com, November 24th.
